Afternoon of the Elves by Janet Taylor Lisle

A 1990 Newbery Honor Book
In this book, the characters think that Sara-Kate's backyard was bad but now it is beautiful. Sara-Kate never invites anybody over. In the morning, when Hillary awakes, she sees an elf village in Sara-Kate's backyard.
I thought that they would all figure out that they saw an elf village.
4 stars (it was a great book and I recommend it to others)

From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E. L. Konigsburg

Winner of the 1968 Newbery Award.
A brother and sister run away from home and live in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. While avoiding the museum security guards, taking a bath in the fountain, and sleeping in a historical bed they solve a mystery.
This is a really good book; however, it would not be possible today. The security systems in any museum today would make living there without detection impossible.
