About a couple that is very lonely. Then the husband sees millions of cats. He brought all of them home and the couple runs away in fear. They decided to take the scrawny, little cat that was left after the huge cat fight.
It was amazing because it was about millions of cats.

This is a story about how, through time, slavery was happening. How children would sew a path to freedom. They called the quilts "show way" quilts. It is amazing.

The Bears on Hemlock Mountain by Alice Dalgllesn

The book is about a little boy that goes over a mountain to get a big pot for his mother. When all of the sudden he falls asleep at his aunt;s after he finished eating a plate of cookies. When he wakes, he dashes out the door forgetting the pot. Later he returns and gets the pot but on the way he runs into some bears and he hides under the big pot until his dad comes.
I think it is a wonderful adventure story about a boy that runs into trouble and then makes it home safe and sound.

Annie and the Old One by Miska Miles

Annie was a young girl and she was learning how to weave. Her grandmother, the old one, said once the blanket was done she would die. Annie tries to stop her mother from weaving, but then she helps.
Annie was the little girl and her grandmother was called "the old one" so that is how the book got its title.

It's about a dentist who lets a fox in and the fox wants to eat the mouse but they outsmart the fox. So the fox ends up with his mouth glued shut.
It was really interesting with talking animals.

Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary
Newbery Medal 1984
It was about a boy whose parents are divorced. He lives with his mom. His dad took his dog with him and he is a truck driver. The boy likes Mr. Henshaw's as an author.
This book is amazing because at the end of the book he sees his dad.

Doctor DeSoto by William Steig
Doctor DeSoto is a book about a dentist mouse. When he meets a fox that needs help. His business doesn't help animals that could eat him. But his wife (his assistant) lets him in. The fox tried to eat him and his wife. But in the end he glued the fox's mouth shut.
I think it was a wonderful book because it's moral was no mater how rude someone treats you, you should always treat them with respect.

Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is a 1971 children's book by Robert C. O'Brien. Illustrated by Zena Bernstein, it won the 1972 Newbery Medal. A film adaptation, The Secret of NIMH, was released in 1982.
