It is about the author's life story. It begins in the time of slavery and then as each generation grows up and slavery starts to vanish. Each person helps make a "show way" - a quilt with a secret meaning. The quilt tells about leaving to live a better life.
It is given this title because the quilt they make is called a show way.

This book is about a family that lives in an apartment. They are in the process of building a house but suddenly a hurricane comes. But they figure out that the house is ok. It just goes through the lives of being the new kids on the block.
It is titled this because it is a simple but enjoyable book. It is about a sweet loving family.
