Stanley Yelnats is sent to Camp Green Lake for a crime he didn't commit. While digging with his friend, Zero, they find a chest full of gold. The warden find out and want to keep all the gold for herself. Zero then realizes that the chest has "Yelnats" on it. In the end, Stanley keeps the gold, his family's curse is lifted, Camp Green Lake is shutdown, and the dishonest, money hungry wardens are sent to jail.
My favorite thing about the book was that justice finally came and that the curse was lifted.
