1984 Newbery Honor
Matt is left alone. His father went to get the family. He meets an Indian who helps him find food and helpful advice. He makes friends with him. They kill a bear and have a feast. Matt finds Attean's dog and helps him out of a trap. They leave to go to Canada. His friend gives him his dog and Matt gives him the watch.
I liked it a lot, I would recommend it to people
4 stars = It was a great book and I recommend it to others.
