1961 Newbery Medal
A girl named Karana was abandoned on an island. She uses many things to help her survive on the island. One of the most important things that kept her going was the friends she met.
I think that the book was the best book I have ever read. I liked how it went to excitement to excitement.
4 stars - It was a great book and I recommend it to others.
