1961 Newbery Medal
The Island of the Blue Dolphins is about a girl named Karana who has to survive on the stranded island after she tries to be with her brother. She soon made friends with Rontu, the dog who killed her brother. For 18 years, she lives on the island. Soon the white men come back and she, Rontu's son, and other pets go with them.
I think it was a very detailed story. I loved if. I would tell others to read it.
4 stars - It was a great book and I recommend it to others.
