A brother and sister run away from home and live in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. While avoiding the museum security guards, taking a bath in the fountain, and sleeping in a historical bed they solve a mystery.

Show Way by Jacqueline Woodson
Nebery
"Show Way" is about slaves, being sold. It starts out in the very beginning of slavery. As it goes on into the story you learn that they made blankets with symbols on them as a map to the north. As it goes into the present it tells of all the girls' lives as slaves. In the end, it tells how the author is a black and doesn't have to work as a slave.
They made blankets with symbols on them to show slaves the way to the north. The blankets were called Show Ways.

India Opal and her father moved to Florida. Opal's mom left her early and she has no friends. That is until she finds Winn-Dixie, Gloria Dump, and Mrs. Franny Black. Then she discovers that Winn-Dixie has a pathological fear of thunderstorms and he gets lost at a party and they look for him only to find him hiding under Gloria's bed.
It was a good book and I couldn't wait to pick it back up over the break.
