Marty Preston meets a beagle, that had been abused, on the road. The boy and the dog have an immediate bond with each other and Marty names him Shiloh. Marty's dad doesn't let him keep Shiloh because it belongs to Judd Travers, a local hunter. They give Shiloh back but he comes back to Marty so Marty makes Shiloh a house in the Preston's shed. Shiloh is attacked and Marty must turn to his dad for help.

I thought it was a good book that tells the story about how no one can get between a boy and his dog.

This book is about a boy and his dog. The dog wanders off and he has to find him. The mean neighbor is threatening to kill the dog but he ends up getting stopped by the sheriff. One day the kid works for him to pay off what he did.

It was an awesome book with good adventure and action.

11 year old Marty Preston lives in West Virginia. It wasn't long before Shiloh, Jude Travers' dog, escapes. Luckily Marty saved Shiloh from being kicked, beat, and stoned, and they become new best friends. Marty keeps Shiloh as a secret pet. When a German Shepard attacks Shiloh, Marty's secret is gone. Jude figures out that Marty has his dog and makes him give him back. But Marty gets Shiloh by doing 20 hours of hard labor.

I think the book was a little sad, but I loved it. Shiloh is one of the best books I've ever read.

One day eleven year old Marty Preston, who lives near Friendly, West Virginia, finds a stray beagle next to a Shiloh school. The dog follows Marty home and Marty gets attached. The next day he finds out it is not a stray dog. It belongs to the meanest man. He shoots animals out of season, Judd Travers. Marty has to risk keeping the dog (or Shiloh) a secret, but he figures out Judd would sell him for 40 bucks. How is Marty going to earn the money? He has to work for Judd every day for two weeks. In the end, they earn the money, buy Shiloh, and live happily ever after.

I thought it was a great book and would have given it 10 stars.
