The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg -- comments by by Carson C., 6th grade, 2012-2013

One day Homer eats a piece of bread intended for pigs, and his guardian Squint tries to hurt him so, Harold, Homer's older brother pushes him.  This is the start of Homer's troubles.  Squint goes and gets some guys and makes harold join the army although he is under age.  So Homer sets off to go get him.  On his journey he faces slave hunters, thieves, mystery, and so much more.  In the end Homer finds his brother and they are adopted by someone alot kinder than Squint.

It is titled this because Homer lies a lot.

2 stars - the writing was good, and he organized it well, but I wasn't pleased with the book.
