1961 Newbery Medal
This story is about a girl who was all alone on an island and was with her brother until wild dogs killed him and she was alone until she made friends with the animals. Later people took her to Santa Barbara.
I think of someone trapped all alone until she makes friends.
4 stars - It was a great book and I recommend it to others.
