1961 Newbery Medal
Karana gets stranded on the Island of the Blue Dolphins with a pack of wild dogs that killed her brother, Ramo. She then gathers supplies to build her house. She then later finds a dog, two birds, and an otter. To find out the rest of the book, read it!
I thought the book didn't have a great ending, but the rest of the book was exciting and enjoyable to read.
