The Sign of the Beaver by Elizabeth George Speare

1984 Newbery Honor

In the beginning, Matt's father leaves him at the newly built cabin in Maine. He leaves Matt a rifle and a watch. Every thing is good for a while until a man named Ben shows up and spends the night with Matt. When Matt wakes up he finds that his rifle is missing. A couple of days later he wakes up after he was stung by several hundred beeds. He finds that Indians saved him. He soon makes a friend named Attean. One day when Attean and Matt go on a trail, they meet up with a bear. Matt and Attean kill the bear. Matt and Attean go to a dinner made from the bear that night. While Matt is there, Matt is asked if he wants to travel north. But Matt refuses. So when Matt's father comes back, Matt tells about his adventures.

Sign of the Beaver was a book that gave great adventure of a boy named Matt and it wasn't one of my favorites.

1 star = I read it, but I would not recommend it to a friend.
