This book is about a Christian family who helps a Jewish family when the nazi's invade. They live in Germany. Anna Marie (Christian) and Ellen (Jewish) are best friends so when the Nazis come Ellen pretends to be Anna Marie's sister while her parents hide. Anna Maire goes on a mission to save her best friend. The Jews are being killed. At the end the war stops and everyone celebrates.
It is given this title because it took a long time for war to end, and Jewish peopl's stars look like this (picture of star) which was on the cover of the book.
