Annie and the Old One is about a girl and her grandmother who love each other. Her mother is weaving a rug and when it is finished her grandmother iwll go to Mother Nature (or die). Annie, the girl, tries to find ways to stop her mother from weaving the rug. Annie tries to be bad at school, and take out the day's work of weaving. Her grandmother explains she can not delay her trip to Mother Nature and gives her her weaving stick and Annie finishes the rug.

Annie and the Old One was most likely given this title because this book is about a girl named Annie and her grandmother who is known as the Old One.
